Combat and support weapon systems of Russian origin dominate the equipment spectrum of Indian defense forces. To retain the combat potential of defense services a continuous and assured supply chain for sustenance and production plans is vital.

Over the years, the voids in the supply chain crept in and became a cause of concern for both the Governments of Russia and India. Three enterprises of Russian federation, namely, M/s Kurgansky Mashinostroitelny Zavod, Muromsky Mashinostroitelny Zavod and M/s Finance Industrial Group' Special Transport Mashinostroenie, came up with a new initiative to resolve these problems, and thus 'Russian Technology Center Pvt. Ltd.' was formed in the year 2000.

The Federal Service for Military Technical Cooperation (FSMTC of Russia) has authorized RTC to pursue this new initiative to bridge the voids in Tech Logistics influencing production and sustenance programs of Indian Defense Services.

The Service Headquarters and Ordnance factories have supported the inceptive activities of RTC. The supply orders under execution and advanced stages of processing substantiate the merit of new initiative of RTC during its first year of operation. RTC assures quick response and early delivery of stores to its coveted customers. It has established service centers to reduce communication and administrative delays.

RTC is in the process of setting up Service Support Centres to reduce communication and administrative delays.
